Recent activities in the landscape of AI idols (featuring YuA, Keem Reah, Rozy, and Eternity)

The number of AI idols in the industry is growing fast. In an article by Herald Corp, the recent and upcoming activities from several AI idols were mapped out, which were translated and slightly expanded upon in this post.

I will refrain from making any comments on the ethics of this phenomenon. Take this as either a way to get excited about new releases or a post to know which releases to avoid.

Starting with debut announcements. Today, on the 25th of February, the music video for YuA's debut single "I Like That" was released. YuA (or Han Yoo Ah) was created by gaming company Smilegate and designing/AI company Giant Step. And YuA has more companies backing her up as well. Not only did HYBE invest in the creation of this idol, contracts were also signed with YG K Plus and CJ ENM.

"I Like That" will be released within the first half of 2022.

Another AI idol scheduled to debut this year is Keem Reah. Reah was created by LG Electronics, who have joined hands with Mystic Story for a musical debut. The music video for her debut has already been created and was teased at CES 2022 "LG World Premiere" in Las Vegas, but no debut dates have been shared.

An AI idol that made her debut a few days ago, is Rozy. Rozy was created by Sidus Studio X, who collaborated with Music Vine. Today they announced that all of the proceeds from "Who Am I" will be donated to Good Neighbors. Good Neighbors is an NGO specialised in global children's rights.

To conclude the news on AI idols, Pulse Nine recently held auditions to find the vocalist(s) who will be acting as the voice of the main and sub-vocalist on, what has been called, Eternity's third single. It is currently unclear if they actually mean a third single, as a second single by the group has not been released yet, or if they designate Dain's "No Filter" as Eternity's second single.

When the single will be released, has also not been disclosed.
